"The destruction of the Genoese Abbey of Capo Faro", in Bendictina XV - 1968, pg. 338: "in 1805 its paintings -and there were some beautiful ones- were taken...to the S. Leonardo Convent. In this year the church was robbed of its marble. An altar...was taken to decorate the church of Cremeno, where an artistic tomb fom the XV century, and which now can be found in the museum of Palazzo Bianco, overturned, was used for many years as a step to reach the main altar. Other marble, bought by the Marchese Agostino Adorno, was brought to the church of S. Giuliano and placed there in a chapel. A statue of the Madonna, also in marble, was taken to the parish of Mele".
